David Estringel
The ninth chapbook from back room poetry.
This is what Mike Zone, the EIC of Dumpster Fire Press had to say about Golden Calves:
David Estringel’s GOLDEN CALVES render the mundane mythic with junkies, a boy with a box full of wasps on a blood honey night at the devil’s hour…poems for our days.
Here is a taster poem from the chapbook to arouse your poetry appetite:
Slam Disturbing white calm, lightning strikes conjure storms in coffee cups and sleepy inkwells, baptizing words in snaps and rolling alliterations— obliterations— of sweet ether and strums of liars’ strings. Drops of fire on wanting eardrums (and moistened seats) sharpen sterling tongues like whetstones to a razor’s kiss for a night’s slice and dice. How cuts flow, sweetly.
